The Justice League is Making Horrible Recruitment Decisions

Look the Justice League has seen some real hard times lately.  Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and J'onn J'onnz are all not currently on the team in the DC Comics Universe.  So the League is desperate for some real superheroes, because right now they're relying on Vixen to save the world.

Yet as you can see above they turned away Super Grover for membership, who is not only one of the greatest superheroes to ever grace our planet, but has an amazing handle on the alphabet.  So the Justice League chose Super Grover over Aquaman.  Well, I guess the letter of the day must be M - for morons.

It's a joke we've heard before but this artist does a wonderfully creative and funny interpretation of it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Named Best Animated Bromance of All Time

Our friends at the Daily Contributor have ranked the Top 50 Animated Bromances of All Time, and named the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1.  The term “bromance” may in and of itself be new, but the truth is, characters on film and television have been bromancing for a long time.


Urban Dictionary defines a “bromance” as a term that “Describes the complicated love and affection shared by two straight males.” The Daily Contributor stretched that definition to include trios and larer groups.  Fair enough.

E3 2010: NEW Nintendo 3DS is Amazing and really 3D

The best quote on the new system to date is from ign 's Craig Harris,

"Trust me, you really have to see this thing in person to understand why I'm incredibly impressed. Nintendo is using an LCD technology that sends each eye an independent image that the brain merges together, and the effect adds depth. A lot of depth. The effect is immediately obvious, yet seems so natural. And there are multiple sweet spots, so you don't have to awkwardly hold the system in a position that doesn't feel comfortable. If you twist the system you'll get double images and lose the 3D, but it's simple to keep the stereoscopic effect within view.

The first system I played had the trailer for Legends of the Guardians, the upcoming owl movie from Warner Bros. I've seen this played in front of Alice in Wonderland, in 3D, and the depth effect on the 3DS screen is just as pronounced as the RealD version I saw in theaters. The same can be said for the How to Train Your Dragon and Disney's Tangled: fantastic video quality and excellent 3D depth."

AMC today has released the first production photo of lead actor Andrew Lincoln portraying police officer Rick Grimes in AMC's adaptation of The Walking Dead.

Says Robert Kirkman, creator-writer of the comic book and executive producer on the series, "Writing this book for the past seven years I've gotten very close to the character of Rick. Andrew Lincoln embodies every aspect of the character that fans know and love. After seeing this photo I don't think that there will be a doubt in anyone's mind that he's perfect for the role."

Jennifer Love Hewitt Lobbying Hard for Wonder Woman Role

I don't really know if Jennifer Love Hewitt is still considered an actress at this point, but she desperately wants the starring role in a new Wonder Woman movie. She even goes so far to say she's obsessed!

Jennifer Love Hewitt says, "I'm fighting so hard. I think Warner Bros. is getting ready to make Wonder Woman and I really want to play Wonder Woman. I am obsessed with Wonder Woman."

What are Jennifer Love Hewitt's chances of scoring the lead role in Joss Whedon's upcoming Wonder Woman movie? We would have to assume zero, since stars like Megan Fox, Sandra Bullock, Eliza Dushku, and Beyonce have all been tied to the project.

Gfest is willing to take any and all bets that Jennifer will NOT be getting this part.  We would think that Hollywood would have to run out of hot actresses before J Love would get any consideration.

First Look at Batman: Return of Bruce Wayne #3 Preview

Batman:  Return of Bruce Wayne #3 hits the shelves tomorrow and Yanick Paquette steps into the artist’s chair and joins forces with writer Grant Morrison to tell a pirate’s tale – featuring our hero, a time-lost Bruce Wayne, struggling to find his way back home as some of his own friends struggle to prevent it from happening.

Gfest has been a little disappointed thus far with this series.  Although, in typical Grant Morrison fashion he takes the reader on a long and confusing journey prior to providing the "pay-off."  Let's hope the Scottish James Robinson knows has a plan to tie this story together that will fit into the DC Universe.  By fit into the DC Universe, Gfest means make Bruce Wayne Batman again!

Texas Police Confiscate Hundreds of Weeds They Thought Was Marijuana

What was first thought to be one of the largest marijuana seizures in the Corpus Christi Police Department's history turned into an embarrassing incident for the cops, as the clueless officers spent a busy and exciting evening harvesting hundreds of horsemint weeds (pictured) from a city park.

The incident began when a teenager riding his bike through Waldron Park in Flour Bluff discovered what he thought were pot plants growing there about 8 p.m Thursday.

The police then spent about an hour pulling up, bagging and tagging around 400 plants. But when they took their haul back to the station, tests revealed that it was a common weed called horsemint.

Police didn't they explain how their big "drug haul" will be disposed of, now that they've spent untold hours and plenty of taxpayer money clearing weeds of the the city park.

The estimated street value of the horsemint is $0.

DC Universe Online Trailer Released - Will Blow Your Mind

Sony has posted the official E3 trailer for the upcoming -- and long-awaited -- DC Universe Online MMORPG that's coming out this fall.

"This trailer also shows the tremendous influence Jim Lee has brought to the table working as the Executive Creative Director on this title – his edgy take on the DC Universe has been transformed from the traditional 2D comic book medium into an immersive 3D interactive environment where you become the next legend!" the post reads. Gfest's Bitching a Classic Game - Round 3

Bitching A Classic is a fun little game gfesters love to play, because it celebrates to extreme negativity of many comic book fans. We give you little snippets from ridiculously negative customer reviews on Amazon of highly regarded classics. You see if you can guess the book.

Today's Clues:

• The story was so terrible that it was the same even if I read it backwards. The art was so bad, I didn't even know whether it was comic book art or a collection of Picasso's.  I would rather watch an infomercial.

• I came away feeling cheated and like I'd gotten screwed with my pants still on. There are some inspired moments but mostly I was asking the question, "Yeah, okay, interesting - but when's the freaking story gonna start??!

• The biggest letdown, I felt, was the artwork.  The graphics seemed very amateurish and sloppy.  For instance, from start to end, I couldn't tell if Catwoman was black or white (in terms of ethnicity).

• This story is basically terrible. its poorly drawn, stupid looking..and batman is barely in it.

• this book is short! It took me about 30 minutes to read and I highly doubt I will wish to read it again.

Gaiman and MacFarlane in Legal Battle Over Spawn

Superman vs. Lex Luthor?  Batman vs. Joker? Neither compare to REAL comic book rivalry of Neil Gaiman vs. Todd MacFarlane.

It's the most epic copyright infringement clash yet, featuring two of the industry's biggest titans battling it out over the rights to specific characters.

Gaiman is the bigger star, thanks to his classic comics series Sandman.  But in the 1990s, MacFarlane was no slouch: his comic series Spawn led to a 1997 film adaptation that grossed nearly $100 million worldwide, a line of action figures and an HBO series. Back when Spawn was launching, he and Gaiman collaborated on creating three supporting characters: Medieval Spawn; Angela, a red-haired angel; and Cogliostro, a one-time Spawn ally.

E3 2010: Xbox 360 Slim Announced

Microsoft unveiled and confirmed the Xbox 360 Slim. Smaller, sleeker, and a whole lot sexier. It’s black and shiny, quiter, less suceptible to RROD, has built in WiFi, a 250 GB hard drive, and all only for $299, the same as the old Xbox 360.
