So Clark Kent wears both the glasses and the costume in his old age.  It's sad to see Superman go crazy.

SWEET Scott Pilgrim Release Party Flyer by Michael DeForge

Toronto-based artcomix enfant terrible Michael DeForge did the honors for this flyer advertising the release party for the sixth and final volume in Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim series, Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour. It's always fun to see O'Malley's distinctive character designs filtered through an artist with a totally different sensibility -- and yet DeForge's take on them seems just as much like a relic from some lost, demented TurboGrafx16 game.

Mark Millar And Leinil Yu’s New Book 'Superior' Revealed

Thanks to Bleeding Cool for breaking the news that a variant cover for the new edited-by-Mark-Millar issue of Wizard reveals the first image of Mark Millar and Leinil Yu’s upcoming series, Superior.  As predicted, it appears to show a superman-style analogue. Probably for telling all sorts of heinous and gory tales of a real superman amongst the people of the world.  Hopefully We'll know more soon about this project.

New Super Mario Mushrooms Types

Origami Yoda is Simply Fantastic

Wow!  This is pretty sweet. I have a hard time folding a napkin let alone origami.  This beautiful work of art was done by antzpantz, who states on his flickr page.
"No no, this did not come from the Origami Calendar box! This was something I folded three-and-a-half years ago while bored one night and not studying. It took three painstaking hours to fold. He stands at 4.5in (11.5cm) tall and was folded from an A3 square- approximately 12x12in (30x30cm)! If I had a larger green square, I'd totally do it again.I found the instructions here soon after they were posted. My original photos can also be seen here."
 He's got some serious talent!

US Military Trying to be More Like Batman

You know why our Military is the best in the world?  Because our soldiers have been asking for Batman tools.  And our scientists have responded by developing a Bat Hook which can be used to steal electricity from any power line.  That's right, snagging some free power via grappling hook is now a military operation. As described on the National Defense Education Network website, the Air Force has designed a “Bat Hook” which soldiers can heave into the air — superhero style — to steal some juice from suspended power lines.

“We work very closely with Special Operations,” says Dave Coates, lead engineer on the project at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (the US Military's answer to Star Labs).  And what were our soldiers asking for? “Is there a way that you could possibly give us something like Batman?”

The Bat Hook system, technically called Remote Auxiliary Power System (RAPS), pierces the power line’s insulation to draw current directly where it’s needed, to charge batteries on the ground, for example.

Check out the video of the Bat Hook below:

Comedy Central's Tosh.0 on Why Soccer is Stupid

Gfest loves the Tosh.0 show.  It's one of the funniest and most relaxing 30 minutes on television.  Earlier this week, Tosh.0 did a very accurate portrayal of how most Americans really feel about soccer.  Watch the video below.  It's damn funny!

Guess Who Wants Wonder Woman's Old Costume?

Comic Artist Chris Samnee came up with this hilarious take on the controversy surrounding Wonder Woman's new costume.  At least it's less gay than his old costume!

Wonder Woman and Hulk's Love Child

Looks like Wonder Woman is really changing things up lately.  First she gets the new costume from Jim Lee.  But the bigger news is that gfest has found evidence of a bastard child conceived by Wonder Woman and The Hulk.  That's certainly one of most unexpected crossovers we've seen in a while.

We're going to assume that the Thor hammer was just a gift, because the thought of Thor engaging in a threesome with these two is a little much to handle right now.

Thanks to grumpygrimone for the funny picture.

Woman Claims Vampire Caused Car Accident

FRUITA, Colo. - If a Western Slope woman is to be believed, vampires may be lurking in Colorado's Grand Valley.

The woman claims she spotted a vampire in the middle of a dirt road near Fruita, Colo. Sunday night. She told Colorado State Troopers she was startled by the undead being, threw her SUV into reverse, and crashed into a canal.

She was not injured.

State Troopers say the woman's husband arrived at the scene and took her home. The vampire, which was not seen by anyone else, apparently let her get away.

Troopers do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors in the crash.  Gfest does.

Sony Picks Next Spiderman and He's White

Blue Sky Disney has leaked the news that Sony has picked the next Spiderman.
With all of the talk about who would be the next Peter Parker, every actor we have heard of and haven't heard of auditioned for the role with Sony selecting a handful of candidates as the finalists for the coveted role of Spider-Man.

The worst kept rumor of the day is that Sony has settled on "Journey to the Center of the Earth's" Josh Hutcherson as the newly high school bound Peter Parker. After several extensive test shoots were performed, Marc Webb and the top Sony executives decided that Hutcherson was the right fit for the role and an offer was made and has been accepted.

Gfest has never heard of Josh Hutcherson? What do you think will he do a good job as the next Peter Parker?
Did anyone actually see Journey to the Center of the Earth?

Green Lantern: Emerald Knight Next DC Animated Movie

Just a few weeks ago, we learned that DC's animation department was moving forward with their next two films: Superman/Batman: Apocalypse and Batman: Year One. To the dismay of many Green Lantern fans, it appeared that The Dark Knight had taken over their hero's film slot. That worry seems to be unfounded, however, with recent news from Warner Home Video highlighting Green Lantern's return to the animated venue with Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.

The title Emerald Knights should be familiar to Green Lantern fans. It was a six-issue comic series written by Ron Marz and Chuck Dixon, and later collected in trade paperback format. The story is this:

"When a young Hal Jordan is thrust forward in time, Kyle Rayner, the current Green Lantern, finds himself face to face with his legendary predecessor. Working together for the first and only time, the two Green Lanterns must find a way to defeat Sinestro and the villain that Hal is destined to one day become, Parallax. Joined by the JLA and Green Arrow in this adventure, Kyle must not only find away to defeat his enemies but also decide if his actions in the present will prevent Hal from going insane and killing many of the Green Lantern Corps in the past, or only make things worse."

Whether the animated film will follow the series' storyline exactly is uncertain at this point. Hopefully, with the 2010 Comic Con International just a few short weeks away, Lantern fans will received a few more tidbits of what to expect in this much anticipated film.

Judd Apatow Adds Newest Member to his Frat Pack Stable of Actors

Judd Apatow has found the next member of his Frat Pack of actors to star in his very successful string of movies.  Apatow is developing an untitled Pee-wee Herman feature for Universal that Paul Reubens is writing with Paul Rust (Inglourious Basterds, I Love You, Beth Cooper). The movie is described as featuring the iconic geek in a road pic built around "a gigantic adventure."

"Let's face it, the world needs more Pee-wee Herman," Apatow told Daily Variety. "I am so excited to be working with Paul Reubens -- who is an extraordinary and groundbreaking actor and writer. It's so great to watch him return with such relevance."

"There is no one like Judd in our business -- he loves comedy with emotion and heart, and he sees what we do as art," Reubens said. "I can't believe I'm getting this opportunity to be working with him."

Judd Apatow is a genious, just an amazing genious.  We can't wait for a new Pee Wee Herman movie.

Legends: The Enchanted Coming to the Big Screen

Imagine Entertainment and Radical Pictures are teaming up to bring graphic novel "Legends: The Enchanted" to the big screen. Howard and Grazer will produce for Imagine, Barry Levine for Radical. Created, written and illustrated by Nick Percival, "Legends" is described as follows:
You think you know them. Think again. Violently ripped from the pages of folklore come the Enchanted. Supernatural immortals living in a dark, steampunk, creature-infested world where nature, technology and foul magic are in constant conflict. When the twisted, burnt remains of the half-wooden, half-mechanical warrior, Pinocchio, are discovered, wolf hunter Red Hood and giant killer Jack realize the fragile rules of their existence have been shattered. With the help of other powerful Enchanted (the mercenary, Goldilocks and psychic exterminators, Hansel and Gretel), Jack and Red team up on an adventure to stop whatever, or whoever is destroying their powers and murdering their kind.
No writer has yet been hired to adapt, nor is it set up at any studio.

The title comes out this month. You can watch the trailer for the graphic novel and visit the official site for more info.

Other graphic novel adaptations in the works at Radical include Last Days of American Crime, based on the work by Rick Remender to which Sam Worthington is attached to star, and Oblivion, being developed with Tron Legacy director Joe Kosinski.

Girl Plays Guitar Hero in a Thong

There seems to be a growing trend on the internet of hot chicks playing video games in little or no clothing.  Needless to say, that's a trend gfest supports.  The latest is this girl playing guitar hero in a very skimpy thong.

Is THIS the Best the Porn Industry Could do for Wonder Woman XXX?

The folks at Vivid Entertainment have grand plans to produce an entire stable of porn videos based on superheroes.  This would be the one instance where the comic book community would actually be more excited to see a Wonder Woman movie than a Batman or Superman movie.  Some of us have been dreaming about Wonder Woman having sex since we were little.

It now seems that the Wonder Woman XXX: A Porn Parody production is underway, as porn actress Tori Black posted this photo of herself in the role.  Wow are we dissapointed.  Why you ask?

1. Wonder Woman has boobs, pretty big ones in fact.  Yet they apparently found the only porn actress in the world who doesn't have boobs to play the role of Princess Diana.

2. She's a Princess of the Amazons, not the Princess of the Trailer Park.  Clean that porch up for Hera's sake, and buy yourself some real patio furniture.

3. That may possibly be the least sexy Wonder Woman costume ever made. Who has ever seen a Wonder Woman costume that doesn't expose some cleavage.

I know its just a porn movie, but if you're going to do Wonder Woman, you should do her right.  And hard.
