DC Releases huge BRIGHTEST DAY Cover Montage. Can You Spot the Hints?

In an effort to pump some life into an otherwise boring and incoherent story DC unveiled this beautiful BRIGHTEST DAY cover montage featuring all the key players in this "saga."  The covers fit together into this massive piece of art that teases what may come out of this story.  Click the image above to see it in all it's glory.

I could care less about the events that may or may not unfold in this series since to date it has been painfully underwhelming, but the art of this HUGE cover montage is wonderful.  This colossal spread features figures by the very talented Ryan Sook, with additional artistry from Fernando Pasarin and Joel Gomez (and a guiding hand from Co-Publisher Jim Lee, natch)

DC's the Source teases, "what does it all mean? Too early to tell, but all the more reason to spend a few more minutes enlarging the image below."  Do you care?

Apple Protesters Burn Apple

Sorry, I could not resist this picture.  It's too damn funny.  Can't find the artist to give him/her the credit they so deserve.  If you know the author, send us a message.

FIRST LOOK: DC Direct BRIGHTEST DAY Action Figures

In March 2011, DC DIRECT will kick off another series of high-quality and story-specific product, this time based around the hit biweekly series, BRIGHTEST DAY. Here ist a first look at the first two waves, which include Hawkgirl, Green Arrow, Deadman, Aquaman, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, Firestorm and Mera.

As an obsessed action figure collector, I am surprisingly lukewarm about the BRIGHTEST DAY line.   The story thus far has been in my opinion, less than engaging so I have hard time purchasing a bunch of characters I could in all honesty give a shit about.  I mean come on who is going to shell out money to purchase Mera?

David Finch's Brightest Day #6 Variant Cover

Hot Dog, this thing is beautiful.  David Finch has really outdone himself in this J'onn J'onnz cover for Brightest Day #6.  For gfest's money, the J'onn story has been the most interesting of the Brightest Day stories so far, so we're hopeful this cover means we'll be getting much more J'onn in this issue, and much less Firestorm.

Covers To Brightest Day #4 Revealed

Black Lantern Firestorm and Black Lantern Hawkman And Hawkgirl?  WTF!

These beautiful covers are courtesy of the source and Johns, Tomasi, Reis, Finch, Gleason, Clark and Syaf.

Brightest Day #4 hits Wednesday and Gfest hopes the story itself is as good as the cover art because the last three issues have been slow to say the least.

Ray Palmer Gets a Cool New Suit in Brightest Day #2

Newsarama has a preview up for Brightest Day #2.  The preview focuses WAY too much on Firestorm, but that's not the news here.  The news is that The Atom Ray Palmer has got himself a new suit, and it looks pretty cool.

This would be The Atom's custom made suit to allow him to enter Firestorm and survive.  Gfest approves.

David Finch's Deadman Cover to Brightest Day #7

Brightest Day #7 - there can be only one who wields the White Lantern…but is it truly Deadman? And what will happen when he attempts to charge the white ring? Meanwhile, Ronnie Raymond risks everything for Firestorm, Martian Manhunter uncovers more clues about the bizarre string of murders stretching across the country, Aquaman searches for the key to the ocean’s survival and the Hawks come face-to-face with the evil that lurks within the strange land known only as Hawkworld!

David Finch created this beautiful cover to Brightest Day #7.  It's very interesting (and very cool) to see Deadman back in the old costume again.

New DC Comics Brightest Day Cover

Ivan Reis, the man responsible for the breathtaking art in Blackest Night is back.  He put together this beautiful cover to Brightest Day #2.

Gfest doesn't even like Firestorm, but the combination of him, the Atom, and Ivan Reis produced one damn pretty funny book cover.

Finch/Williams Brightest Day Cover Sketches

These three Brightest Day covers (issues 3,4 & 5) are penciled by David Finch and inked by Scott Williams are beautiful.  Gfest cannot wait to see them in the final form.  Enjoy!
