Fan favorites Tim Daly (Private Practice) and Kevin Conroy (China
Beach) return to their seminal roles as Superman and Batman,
respectively. The celebrity-laden guest cast is headed by Andre Braugher
(Men of a Certain Age) as the daunting Darkseid. Sci-Fi heroine Summer
Glau (Serenity/Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles)
provides the voice of Supergirl, and seven-time Emmy Award winner Ed
Asner (Up) reprises his Superman: The Animated Series/Justice League
role as Granny Goodness.
The First Clip from Gfest Lifetime Acheivment Award Winner Bruce Timm's Batman: Under the Red Hood is now available for the world to see. Again, any Batman that isn't Kevin Conroy is still a crime in our book, but Bruce Greenwood isn't half bad.
My excitement for the Red Hood movie just went down a little bit, maybe even a lot, but I'm trying not to overreact. Yet it's hard not too. Because at first blush, this is one of the worst Batman voices I've ever heard.
Can't we just give this role to Kevin Conroy until he dies? Walt Disney was ALWAYS the voice of Mickey Mouse. Jim Henson was ALWAYS the voice of Kermit the Frog. Kevin Conroy should ALWAYS be the animated voice of Batman.
Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman on Batman: The Animated Series, had some choice words for Christian Bale's gravelly Bat-voice. Although he went out of his way to praise Bale's acting performance, Conroy noted that Bale "just got steered wrong" in the voice department, and said his Batman "sounds ridiculous."
