Kilowog to Join the Obama Corps?
You can take all of your Barack Obama Spiderman comic books
and shove them, because THIS is clearly the best crossover between President Obama and the world of comic books.
Kilowog yelling "Yes We Can Poozers" to a group of new Green Lantern recruits just seems right. Well its seems right until all those recruits then go out and get slaughtered in the next big attack on the Green Lanterns. Seriously, we love the old big guy, but when's the last time one of Kilowog's trainees wasn't killed within the first year? Blackest Night
seemed to clear out all of them.
Wonder if the Green Lantern Corps has universal health care?

By The Numbers - Blackest Night Comic Book Sales
- The Blackest Night
Event, which took place over 75 different DC comic books, including tie-in issues, sold 5.7 million comics, with a retail value of more than $19.4 million
- The cost to purchase one copy of every Blackest Night
related issue was $251. A recent eBay item which offered the same 75 comics, ended at $117.
- Of the 5.7 million total comics sold, 2.9 million were written directly by Geoff Johns, with a total retail value of $10.4 million.
- The Blackest Night
event had 15 separate issues with sales of over 100,000.
- The top selling Blackest Night issue was Blackest Night #1
with sales of more than 200k copies. The worst selling Blackest night title was REBELS #11
, with sales of just over 30k.
- DC Comics charged $2.99 for issues of both Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps during the Blackest Night
event. Had they charged $3.99, like they did most of the other related titles, DC would have raised another $1.6 million.
- In January, DC brought back eight cancelled titles for a onetime special Blackest Night
tie-in issue. Atom and Hawkman #46
by Geoff Johns was the most popular of these titles. The least popular in terms of sales was Weird Western Tales #71
, written by Dan Didio.
- DC Comics published seven different three issue supplemental titles. The most popular of these was Blackest Night Batman
(270k copies sold) while the least popular was Blackest Night JSA
(182k copies sold).
- In November, DC Comics began publishing a two issue Blackest Night story in six existing titles (Outsiders
, Adventure Comics
, REBELS, Booster Gold
, Doom Patrol
and Justice League of America
). Fans that purchased the first of the two issues were given a free promotional lantern corps ring. Total sales for the second issues in these six titles fell by more than 120k copies, or 30%.
- DC Comics offered promotional rings
that represented each of the various lantern corps. The set of eight, which was free with purchase of the titles listed above, will cost you $15 to purchase on Amazon
today.

Sneak a Peak at Green Lantern Corps #43
Gfest loves GREEN LANTERN.
We also love Green Lantern Corps, except for Guy Gardner, who is such a whiny little biotch! With that said, Peter Tomasi
(one of the best new writers in comics) with his wonderful prose helped me manage my anger towards Guy Gardner and allowed me to enjoy reading this title.
I am hopeful that when this new era for the GREEN LANTERN CORPS
begins and Tony Bedard steps in as the book’s regular writer, joined by artist Ardian Syaf, it will continue to pacify me. The first story arc is titled “Revolt of the Alpha Lanterns,” Here is a page from their first issue. With? Drum roll please, Guy Freakin' Gardner. Son of a Biotch!
