Just Because I'm Amazed By this Fact: Nintendo Sells 46,000 Wii Remotes a Day.

According to Nintendo, the company has sold more than 65 million Wii remotes in the United States since the launch of the console in November 2006. It averages 46,000 Wii Remotes sold every day.

"This demonstrates that Wii owners like to play and they like to play together. They're not the stereotypical gamers playing alone in their parents' basement," Nintendo says.

Here's the breakdown of U.S. Wii remote controller sales by retail tracking group NPD:
• 30.41 million included with the Wii hardware
• 12.92 million sold with Wii Play
• 18.56 million white versions sold separately
• 2.44 million black versions sold separately
• 467,500 pink versions sold separately
• 465,200 blue versions sold separately

NPD also reports Nintendo has sold an additional 52.9 million Nunchuk controllers in the United States through September.

On November 7, Nintendo will launch the The Wii Remote Plus, a new controller that combines the traditional Wii remote and Wii RemotePlus add-on.

Nintendo Wants You to Waste Money on Another Useless Remote

IGN is reporting that the new Wii Remote Plus is a go. So get ready to discard your Wii Remote and Motion Plus add on (don't get mad you only spent $40-$50 on them) and get ready to shell out more money for a new remote. It's not like the Motion Plus add on wasn't useful. We had what 3 or 4 games we could use it on. It seems like a wise move.  At least we are not in a recession!

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced at a press briefing in Japan last night the existence of the Wii Remote Plus, a combination of the Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus peripheral. "For the convenience of the users, Nintendo is developing Wii Remote Plus, which integrates Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus," Iwata said. "We will announce the details of this controller on our web sites and through other media at some later date."

New MojoWijo Turns Wii Remote into a High Tech Vibrator

Check out the Mojowijo, the new device that can be attached to the Nintendo Wii remote and can be used as a vibrator!

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!

The main appeal of this product isn't the ability to simply transform your Wii remote into a vibrator.  They've figured out how to let you control others' Wii Remote vibrators remotely.

Mojowijo transforms your Nintendo Wii remote control into a next generation body stimulation device.  The motions of one wiimote are transformed into vibrations in another wiimote. Literally allowing you to 'share the mojo' with anyone either in the same room or anywhere else in the world over the internet.
The device is attached to the accessory port on a Nintendo Wii remote control. The control is then connected to a bluetooth enabled PC running Mojowijo software. Using Mojowijo's patent pending Motion2Vibration technology, the device is able to transform the varying motions of the control into appropriate vibration signals and send them to another selected device.

They currently aren't for sale, but they are ready to start beta testing the Wiibrators soon.  Sign up HERE if you're interested in being a guinea pig.

BACK TO THE FUTURE Getting It's Own Video Game

It's about time.  One of the greatest movies ever made is finally getting a decent video game.  The USA Today is reporting that Telltale Games is working on a Back to the Future video game.

While those of us who still remember this original Nintendo masterpiece may be a little wary of another Back to the Future video game, this one is actually sounding like it has the potential to be pretty cool. According to Telltale (who also has a Jurassic Park game in the works), the game will be told in five "episodes" written by Bob Gale, who wrote the original three films, and will feature key time periods and characters from the movies.

What's even more exciting is that the game will feature the likenesses of Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd - and Lloyd will also be providing the voice for Doc Brown. Great Scott!

According to Wired, the game, which does not appear to have an official release date yet, will be released on "all major platforms."

Telltale Games will be kicking off their Back to the Future game hype in full force at the Penny Arcade Expo in the Seattle this weekend (which according to their website, is already sold out), where they will have a replica of the time-travelling DeLorean.

I hope you get to kick Biff's ass, ride a wooden skateboard, get to see a YOUNG Leah Thompson and Elisabeth Shue, get cool self lacing Nike high tops, and drive a DeLorean while creaming Doc!

Mario Galaxy 3 - Fox's Revenge

The Secret Story Behind What Really Happened in Super Mario Revealed

Gfest loves funny cartoons.  Especially cartoons featuring our favorite Nintendo Characters.  We stumbled upon this cartoon by Steve Napierski at duelinganalogos.  Once we read it and stopped laughing we knew we had to share with our Gfest friends.

All those hours spent playing Super Mario Brothers would been much shorter and a heel of a lot easier if we could have just said, "Too F'n Bad, Princess"

Once You Go Bowser You Never Go Back

Poor Mario.  He busts his ass on a daily basis in a constant effort to save Princess Peach, and the biatch has the nerve to complain about Mario not juicing her peach?

Gfest thinks she should give the poor Italian bastard a break.  He's probably a little tired from chasing you all over god's green earth and then some.

Mario and Link need to get together and make a pinky-swear to stay off princesses.

(Gfest could not make out the artist name to give him/her full credit.  please let us know so we can give credit where credit is deserved.)

New Batman: Brave and the Bold Video Game Trailer

Gfest loves anything Batman (as if you didn't know that).  We love Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, The Adventures of Batman and Robin, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, The Batman, and Batman the Brave and the Bold.  We have watched every single episode of each series (ya, we know that's why we are your favorite geeks) and always wanted a decent video game to play modeled after these series.

Well know we may finally have one.  Warner Brothers says:
The Brave and the Bold the Videogame fully immerses fans into the vivid animated world of the successful TV series where kids can play as Batman or together with family and friends in two-player co-op mode. Players can choose from iconic characters ROBIN, GREEN LANTERN, BLUE BEETLE, along with drop-in heroes such as AQUAMAN to help solve puzzles and fight foes. The game also features the majority of the great voice talent responsible for characters in the animated TV series.
Gfest thinks Batman + Wii = amazing.  Enjoy the trailer for this game below.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Receives a Perfect 10 From IGN

How freakin good is this game?.  I mean come on, no Zelda game ever got a perfect 10. And, it's hard to beat playing as Link especially on the Wii.  Although, Gfest did love the first Super Mario Galaxy and IGN is usually pretty spot on with their reviews.

Below is brief excerpt from IGN's article on Super Mario Galaxy 2. Click read more for more from IGNs review.

I think the one thing you should take away from this review: Super Mario Galaxy 2 wholly exceeded my expectations. Leading up to the game’s release I hadn’t expected much more than simply “more of the same.” I loved the original Super Mario Galaxy, but the company would have to do something pretty special to really “wow” me.

Sony Releasing PSP 2 at E3?

IGN is reporting that earlier this month rumors began circulating about the possibility of Sony showing off a brand new PSP at this year's E3 -- not just a new iteration of the existing series, but a brand new device – the fabled PSP 2. Reports today, however, suggest that the new hand-held will not be making its debut at the show, but maintain that it is real, and will arrive later this year.

A source reported yesterday that Sony's long-rumored successor to the PSP is unlikely to be shown at E3, and is expected to debut at Tokyo Game Show or GamesCom later this year. The site went on to detail the purported features of the new device; specifically that it will feature two cameras, a touch-screen display, and will feature a four-core Cell processor. While we have heard chatter about camera integration and touch-screen controls in the past, the four-core processors is a fairly new addition to the rumor mill. The inclusion of a powerful four-core processing system would be a large boost over current iterations, and to it put into perspective, is about half the power of the PS3, which runs on an eight-core variation.

Gfest will let yo know the minute we receive any details on the PSP 2 debut

Badass Link: Legend of Zelda Picture

Here is a beautiful picture of Link from the Legend of Zelda entitled, "Navi-Hey Listen" created by GENZOMAN at DeviantArt.

Gfest loves the Legend of Zelda games, but let's face it that damn fairy will drive you nuts screaming "hey" or "Watch-out" every five seconds.  Gfest applauds Link for teaching that annoying little SOB a lesson.

New Super Mario Galaxy 2 Ad Knocks it Out of the Galaxy

This new commercial for SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 is fantastic.  It's a nice blend between real people (almost viewing the galaxy in a DisneyWorld like park) and gameplay views, which are fantastic.

Can't wait for this game to be released on May 23.

14 Year Old Boy Gets Nintendo Wii, Marijuana and Lots of Sex from Teacher.

Kristen Sullivan is an innovator.  The 25 year old teacher from Florida is charged with two counts of sexual battery and one count of lewd and lascivious battery, according to local police.

Kristen is accused of having sex with the boy more than 100 times.  That's an impressive amount for one of these student teacher sex scandals, but Kristen didn't stop there.

In addition to sex, Kristen also:

  • Repeatedly gave the boy marijuana
  • Changed his grades for him
  • Told the boy she might be pregnant
  • Gave him a Nintendo Wii and videogames
  • Gave him a cell phone, Air Jordan Sneakers and a gold chain.

  • Last had sex with him in the back of her car, parked in front of the boy's home

I mean Kristen knows how to do a scandal.  If you're going to throw away your career and spend some time in jail, I guess she figured that you might as well go all out.

Nintendo Declares Victory Over Sony - Eyes Apple Next

Nintendo Unveils Wii Party

If you were wondering what's next to follow Wii Sports, Wii Fit and Wii Music, Nintendo provided the answer today: Wii Party.

This all new party game is being developed for Wii release some time this year, according to IGN. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced it during an investors briefing in Japan earlier today. An English transcript of that briefing was posted online.

"Nintendo has not launched a marquee party game since Mario Party 8, launched in summer 2007," said Iwata during the briefing. "However, since Wii is usually being played by several people at once and the global sales of Mario Party have reached 7.6 million units, a party title has great potential. [Wii Party] is one of the titles which, we hope, will play an important role for this fiscal year."
