Should You Have a POGS Night This Weekend?

I'll be honest.  I literally haven't had a single thought about POGS in years.  Until today. 

POGS were the Beanie Babies of their time - a sudden nationwide craze, that became wildly popular for no apparent reason whatsoever.  And then one day, suddenly, it was just over.  Everyone just woke up to realize how dumb the whole thing was.

For those who don't know, POGS is a game that was very popular during the 1990's.  The name originates from POG, a brand of juice made from passionfruit, orange and guava. We'll put the simple rules of how to play the game after the jump for those who REALLY need to know.  But basically, it involved knocking over stacks of paper discs. 

But that little act became such a fad, that many schools across the country banned POGS because they considered it a form of gambling.  You see, if you won, you got to keep the other kid's POGS.  Which is why the game lead to a lot of after school fights.

• Start by getting yourself the 1994 POGS Champion T Shirt.  Mind games are a must in POGS.
• Get your friends together for a game of POGS, and then give them the choice of two different POGS games:


• The Grown Up Version - Beer POGS - where some genious turned POGS into a drinking game. 
• The Classic Version - A classic POGS set - yep they still sell them.  I know, I'm as shocked as you.
