Just Because I'm Amazed By this Fact: Nintendo Sells 46,000 Wii Remotes a Day.

According to Nintendo, the company has sold more than 65 million Wii remotes in the United States since the launch of the console in November 2006. It averages 46,000 Wii Remotes sold every day.

"This demonstrates that Wii owners like to play and they like to play together. They're not the stereotypical gamers playing alone in their parents' basement," Nintendo says.

Here's the breakdown of U.S. Wii remote controller sales by retail tracking group NPD:
• 30.41 million included with the Wii hardware
• 12.92 million sold with Wii Play
• 18.56 million white versions sold separately
• 2.44 million black versions sold separately
• 467,500 pink versions sold separately
• 465,200 blue versions sold separately

NPD also reports Nintendo has sold an additional 52.9 million Nunchuk controllers in the United States through September.

On November 7, Nintendo will launch the The Wii Remote Plus, a new controller that combines the traditional Wii remote and Wii RemotePlus add-on.

New MojoWijo Turns Wii Remote into a High Tech Vibrator

Check out the Mojowijo, the new device that can be attached to the Nintendo Wii remote and can be used as a vibrator!

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!

The main appeal of this product isn't the ability to simply transform your Wii remote into a vibrator.  They've figured out how to let you control others' Wii Remote vibrators remotely.

Mojowijo transforms your Nintendo Wii remote control into a next generation body stimulation device.  The motions of one wiimote are transformed into vibrations in another wiimote. Literally allowing you to 'share the mojo' with anyone either in the same room or anywhere else in the world over the internet.
The device is attached to the accessory port on a Nintendo Wii remote control. The control is then connected to a bluetooth enabled PC running Mojowijo software. Using Mojowijo's patent pending Motion2Vibration technology, the device is able to transform the varying motions of the control into appropriate vibration signals and send them to another selected device.

They currently aren't for sale, but they are ready to start beta testing the Wiibrators soon.  Sign up HERE if you're interested in being a guinea pig.

New Wii Controller is Link's Wet Dream

Gfest idol, IGN broke the news that the sweet controller you see here is set to release from component company Hori and is specifically designed for Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road Victory, an updated Wii port of arcade card battle game Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road.   The controller mimics the look of the arcade version, right down to the button sizes. The sword can be pushed down to perform your special sword attacks.  Doing the hand jive baby!

This special controller is used with the game's "Classic Controller" option, so unfortunately will will not be pulling the sword out and slashing away like you're playing the Legend of Zelda (BUMMER).

Another kick in the nuts, it's not available in the USA.  Importers can look forward to this special controller opposite Battle Road Victory this Summer. It will run you about $150, plus a Japanese pen pal.
