It's no secret I love Fables and Jack of Fables. They're two my favorite books. I've read the series numerous times and anxiously wait each month's new release.
Last year when Chris Roberson released the special mini-series entitled, Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love I immediately fell in love with the book. I really fell in love with Chrissie Zullo's covers of Cinderella. She made Cindy look so damn sexy! The story was excellent and I craved more once it was ended.
Hallelujah!! My prayers have been answered! The sexy, smart, tough, fashion-conscious spy is back in February with another story of espionage and action.
Cinderella: Fables are Forever, a spin-off from the hit Vertigo series Fables, reunites the same creative team as last time, with i, Zombie's Chris Roberson writing and Shawn McManus drawing. Chrissie Zullo is also back doing covers.
And this time, the story will be tied to what's going on in the main Fables title.
Newsarama has a interview with Chris Roberson abvout this project and other items he is currently working on for DC.

Harry Potter Director Attached to Fables Movie
According to Collider, director David Yates (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
) may be attached to helm an adaptation of Bill Willingham’s comic book series Fables. You may remember that in December of 2008, it was reported that ABC was adapting the books for a new TV series. For those unfamiliar with the comics, Fables centers on characters from fairy tales, myths, etc. living in New York after their homeland is overtaken by a figure known only as “The Adversary”. Presuming this film adaptation is in the works, then I think we can assume the television version is dead. Also, the project would be set up at Warner Bros. since they own publisher Vertigo Comics, which is a subsidiary of DC Comics. It's been awhile since any word about the tentative Fables TV series has circulated. The last evidence that the property was still being considered for a live-action treatment was when the ABC network announced it's plans for an adaptation; but that was several years ago.
"[We've] been given fairly convincing evidence to definitively suggest that David Yates is, at least, in the mix and that a Fables movie is, at the very least, in the early stages of development, so it’s not a rumor that should be quickly dismissed...However, though the project is apparently a priority over at Warner Brothers, there’s not a writer on board yet and the potential ABC mini-series based on the graphic novel series may present either a conflict or a launching point, which assumes that ABC’s television series is going ahead. That’s not information I have available, although if DC Comics and Warner Brothers are developing a film, common sense would suggest that the series is all but dead. Best I can tell, there’s been little or no movement on the series since it was announced a year and a half ago."
Bill Willingham’s award winning Fables series follows the story of many popular fairy tale characters, such as the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White, Boy Blue, Cinderella and the Frog Prince, who are chased out of their realms (dubbed the Homelands) when an evil force called the Adversary declares war. The characters, both human and animal based, find sanctuary in our world and build a community in New York.
David Yates, who has helmed four of the Harry Potter films, has recently been linked to take over directing Peter Jackson's two-part prequel The Hobbit, since Guillermo Del Toro officially stepped down. No work yet from Warner Bros whether there is validity to this new rumor; but Fables fans should at least be happy to hear the series may not be ignored for much longer.

Did Dan Didio Just Bitch Slap Vertigo Comics?
A Rich Johnson rumor says that Dan Didio has decided to take Swamp Thing away from Vertigo to bring him back to the DC Universe.
Recently demoted DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio has decided that a new Swamp Thing
title will be released under the DC banner, instead of a planned reboot from science fiction author China Mieville
.
What's more, Johnston contends that the Didio proclamation extends to any of the Vertigo superheroes that originated in the DC Universe.
Many are outraged by this move, but it makes a lot of sense to gfest. While Vertigo's roots are in edgier takes on classic DC superheroes, that's not what drives the Vertigo train today. Today Vertigo is THE home for highly acclaimed original series like 100 Bullets
, Preacher
, Scalped
, DMZ
, Transmetropolitan
and Y: The Last Man
.
For years, Vertigo's flagship series was Hellblazer, but that's no longer the case. Today, Fables rules the world of Vertigo.
So mark it down, today gfest agreed with a Dan Didio decision. We're as shocked as you are.

Vertigo Comics Fables TV Ad on BBC America
Gfest loves Bill Wilingham's Fables. Gfest has read every single issue of all Fables, Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall, Jack of Fables, Great Fables Crossover, Peter & Max, and Cinderella From Fabletown with Love. When we stumbled upon this television ad for Fables it was extremely exciting. Gfest had never seen a bona fide television commercial for a graphic novel. Have you?

GFEST Must Buy Comic Books of the Week
Green Lantern Corps #47
As Brightest Day begins, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner, along with the rest of the Green Lantern Corps, attempt to pick up the pieces from the horrific events of Blackest Night and take a long hard look at how the Corps is run now that major revelations have come to light. Who survived (and what the Alpha Lanterns have in store for them) is only one of the many new questions that the Green Lanterns will have to answer on the difficult and dangerous road ahead.
Gfest View
Truth be told, I have never been a Green Lantern Corps fan. Mainly because there are too damn many of them to keep track of as you read the series. Well that's not entirely true, I HATE GUY GARDNER! The only time I like Guy Gardner is when Batman is kicking his ass. With all the Green (now Orange, Blue, Indigo, Purple, Red, Yellow, Black, White) Lanterns, we could have easily killed him off and substituted anyone in his place. With that said, Peter Tomasi's run and the Blackest Night mega-event got me hooked on this title. I am hopeful that Guy Gardner won't ruin it for me.
Jack Of Fables #45
Jack Frost has finally come face-to-face with the Empyrean, but it's clear that someone somewhere along the way has been lying about what this is all about. In fact, it's beginning to seem as if everyone everywhere along the way has been lying.

The one (maybe two) loyal follower(s) of this post, know that I LOVE Fables. I also LOVE Jack of Fables. I was a little concerned when Bill Wilingham and Matt Sturges removed the main character Jack Horner from this book and inserted his son Jack Frost as the lead character. And like Megan Fox in any movie, it's still damn good! This story has been along-time building and mow Jack's son finally gets his shot at the giant.
JLA Vol. 03 Deluxe Edition HC
The JLA's very first foe, Starro the Conqueror, returns in this new Deluxe hardcover!

I am the first to admit that Grant Morrison can be the most frustrating S.O.B. in comics today. He dupes you in with beautiful, eloquent, timeless stories such as All Star Superman or his run on the JLA. Then as in Final Crisis, he will lead you on, teasing you, telling you what you want to hear, just as the Sirens in Homer's Odyssey did to Odysseus's crew. Then, at the moment you are about to succumb to his beautiful prose, the final issue arrives and feeds on your heart and liquefies your brain. With that being said, when the Scottish Alan Moore is on and in-sync, he's the best of the best. And, his run on JLA is fabulous.
Locke & Key Crown Of Shadows #5
Chapter 5: Light of Day. Four words: 'Giants hitting each other.' Don't miss the most smash-tastic fight issue of the year!
Gfest View
Locke & Key has consistently been one of the best books on the market since it's inception nearly two years ago. Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez have proven themselves to be at the top of the comic book industry. Each issue is better than the last. It's one of the those series that you can read again and again.
