EA reveals that Rock Band 3 to Feature Guitar with Strings and a Keyboard

Electronic Arts has revealed a slew of new details and images for the new “Pro” instruments that will be available for use in the upcoming Rock Band 3.
First up, there’s the all-new Pro Guitar, which features 17 frets worth of buttons and six strings in place of the traditional plastic flipper used for strumming. Basically, it’s about as close as you can get to a real guitar without being a real guitar.
The other major new addition is the mini keyboard which will allow you and your friends to perform endless renditions of Piano Man Simple. The keyboard also includes an adapter that will let you use the keyboard outside of the game on a computer with appropriate software.

New Live Action Mortal Kombat Trailer Hits YouTube

This video from what could be the next Mortal Kombat game or movie trailer is brutal, disgusting, and pretty cool.

The video features a very realistic take on the Mortal Kombat franchise that looks more like a horror movie than the average campy video game adaptations we've all grown to hate.

Problem is that no one seems to know exactly what this footage is.  It might be a movie trailer, or possibly a new video game trailer.

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has indicated that the next game in the series would be shooting for an M rating. "People want an M-rated MK....dammit we will give them an M-rated MK." This would surely do the trick.

Sony Releasing PSP 2 at E3?

IGN is reporting that earlier this month rumors began circulating about the possibility of Sony showing off a brand new PSP at this year's E3 -- not just a new iteration of the existing series, but a brand new device – the fabled PSP 2. Reports today, however, suggest that the new hand-held will not be making its debut at the show, but maintain that it is real, and will arrive later this year.

A source reported yesterday that Sony's long-rumored successor to the PSP is unlikely to be shown at E3, and is expected to debut at Tokyo Game Show or GamesCom later this year. The site went on to detail the purported features of the new device; specifically that it will feature two cameras, a touch-screen display, and will feature a four-core Cell processor. While we have heard chatter about camera integration and touch-screen controls in the past, the four-core processors is a fairly new addition to the rumor mill. The inclusion of a powerful four-core processing system would be a large boost over current iterations, and to it put into perspective, is about half the power of the PS3, which runs on an eight-core variation.

Gfest will let yo know the minute we receive any details on the PSP 2 debut

Nintendo Unveils Wii Party

If you were wondering what's next to follow Wii Sports, Wii Fit and Wii Music, Nintendo provided the answer today: Wii Party.

This all new party game is being developed for Wii release some time this year, according to IGN. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced it during an investors briefing in Japan earlier today. An English transcript of that briefing was posted online.

"Nintendo has not launched a marquee party game since Mario Party 8, launched in summer 2007," said Iwata during the briefing. "However, since Wii is usually being played by several people at once and the global sales of Mario Party have reached 7.6 million units, a party title has great potential. [Wii Party] is one of the titles which, we hope, will play an important role for this fiscal year."
