Dynamite Announces New Comic - H2O

Dynamite Entertainment announced a new comic book from writer Grant Calof (Hulk Unchained) and artist Jeevan J. Kang (John Woo's Seven Brothers, The Sadhu, Spider-Man: India) entitled, H20.
Set in the not too distant future… When a 100-year global drought devastates the Earth and a failed rainmaking experiment destroys the atmosphere, humankind teeters on the brink of collapse. As the remaining nations wage war over dwindling water supplies and natural resources, two rival scientists on opposite sides of the world discover a lost glacier high in the Andes-- setting off a deadly race to claim and control the planet's last known source of fresh water. The story focuses on Aaron Turner, a brilliant volcanologist with a secret past he'd like to keep hidden. Aaron's known for his radical, sometimes controversial theories and his intelligence is off the charts, but he's trapped in the shadow of his father's brilliance and failures - a burden that may finally lift if Aaron reaches the buried glacier first. But a terrible revelation awaits underground that threatens the very existence of their mission. Created by Liquid Comics and Eric Eisner's, "Epic Cycle" graphic novel imprint.
The book will become available in October, is 72 pages long, and will cost you $6.99.  The premise sounds fairly interesting and it's a one-shot so there is no long-term commitment, but I would wait for some reviews, prior to blowing nearly $7.00 on a book. Let us know what you think?

Grant Morrison's New Project '18 Days' Looks Amazing

If you have followed this blog over the last couple of months you know Gfest has a love hate relationship with Grant Morrison.  With that being said, we always seem to purchase his comics whether it is Batman & Robin, Batman: Return of Bruce Wayne or Joe the Barbarian.  I guess your friends at Gfest are Grant's bitches.

To prove our point we were very excited to read from our friends at Newsarama that Dynamite Entertainment and Liquid Comics recently announced a publishing partnership to release an illustrated hardcover book featuring the original scripts created by Grant Morrison for his animated project ‘Grant Morrison’s 18 Days.’  Referred to as "the prototype for every war ever fought," 18 Days re-imagines "Mahabharata," the multi-generational Indian epic that follows the battles that've defined the mythological ages of man.

The artwork for the hardcover book by Indian artist, Mukesh Singh (Devi, Gamekeeper, Shadow Hunter) is simply stunning.  Gfest was blown away by it.

While the film is diving into an area most of us do not fully understand, Grant Morrison was quoted as saying, "No previous knowledge of history or culture is required to read 18 Days Give it a look if you liked Star Wars, 300 or The Lord of the Rings. It pretty much speaks for itself."  Good news for all of us.

NEW Alex Ross Cover Art to Green Hornet #4

Gfest was as shocked as anyone that Kevin Smith's Green Hornet #1 was an incredible hit and it helped propel Dynamite Entertainment as the fifth largest publisher in comics for the month of June.  With the re-orders on Kevin Smith's Green Hornet #1 being achieving such incredible numbers, it catapulted to the #11 slot for dollars and #20 spot for units of the top 100 books in March.

How pissed is DC that Kevin Smith finally had a successful book but with another company?

The success of the book apparently made an impact because Dynamite just released the gorgeous cover art for Green Hornet #4, which was done by the ever-talented Alex Ross.
