Christopher Walken Invades The Walking Dead
The artist known as Doctor Popular has given us our biggest smile of the week with his very funny series of art entitled "The Walken Dead." He re imagines the world of Robert Kirkman and AMC's The Walking Dead series, except with super actor Christopher Walken playing a zombie.
It's witty, funny and a more than a little bit scary. Christopher Walken is already a little creepy, but a zombie Christopher Walken carrying a cowbell around with him, well that's just terrifying.

AMC's THE WALKING DEAD Zombie Invasion has Begun!
The cable network is staging "zombie attacks" in 26 major cities -- hundreds of extras in zombie makeup roaming landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Big Ben in London, The Prado Museum in Madrid.
The stunts will commence at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and moves across the globe during a 24 hour period and culminates at the show’s Los Angeles premiere.
Across the globe, several thousand supporters of the show - sporting dusty, tattered clothing spattered with blood - began with a trance-walk around their favorite city frightening some pedestrians and confusing others.
But nothing would kill their spirit.

The Making of The Walking Dead - 17 Minute Feature
It's like a Halloween came early this year!
Robert Kirkman's AMC series The Walking Dead is nearing its TV premiere date on Halloween night on AMC and gfest can't wait! We've seen little clips and trailers that have all been awesome, but nothing compares to this new 17 minute behind the scenes feature. Watching this should give you all the assurances you need that AMC and Frank Darabont are taking this project seriously and that they are doing it right.
The feature includes interviews with Darabont, where he talks about how AMC has had no problems with including a lot of extremely violent content in the show. This show sure looks like its going to blow people away, not to mention how many zombies will be blown away in the process.

NYCC ’10: A Trilogy of Original Novels set in The Walking Dead “Universe in 2011
The Walking Dead, the acclaimed horror series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, will move from comics to television to prose.
Deadline reports that Thomas Dunne Books, a division of St. Martin’s Press, will publish a trilogy of original novels set in The Walking Dead “universe,” beginning in 2011. Kirkman will conceptualize and outline the books, which will then be developed by horror novelist Jay Bonansinga (Perfect Victim, Shattered).
The novels will mark the second time the world of The Walking Dead has appeared in prose: Kirkman contributed a short story, “Together, Alone,” to the zombie-fiction anthology The Living Dead 2, published last month.
AMC’s adaptation of The Walking Dead debuts on Oct. 31. Issue 78 of the Image Comics series, which Deadline says has sold about 3 million copies worldwide, is due in stores next week.

Another THE WALKING DEAD #80 Teaser Cover - 'The End?'
The latest preview for Robert Kirkman's THE WALKING DEAD does not look
good for Rick and Carl. If you thought things looked bad in the other previews, well it looks a helluva lot worse for our survivors now.
The release of the much anticipated issue #80 along with the premier of the television series on Halloween makes it good to be a fan of THE WALKING DEAD and of course, Zombies.

Another THE WALKING DEAD #80 Teaser Cover - 'Desperate Times...'
The latest preview for Robert Kirkman's THE WALKING DEAD does not look good for our heroes/survivors. If you thought things looked bad in the last preview, well it looks a helluva lot worse now.
Kirkman is no stranger to killing-off main characters in this book, so it should be no surprise that we lose a few of these folks that have been near and dear to our heart. But, damn, it's looking real, real bad for these folks.

The Punisher Wants a Guest Spot on Walking Dead TV Series
Since then, the project moved over to AMC, and Thomas Jane stayed with HBO to star in Hung. But that doesn't mean Jane is any less excited about the project.
"That show is going to be a big f---ing hit," he told NBC Washington blog PopcornBiz at HBO’s post-Emmy party. "I've seen it and it is fan-f---ing-tastic."
So far, we’ve only been made privy to the supersized "The Walking Dead" trailer but Jane is completely right. It looks awesome.
And Jane still wants to be a part of the show. He apparently spent much of his Emmy night lobbying “Dead” director Frank Darabont (who directed Jane in “The Mist
"I'm going to come on and do a guest thing," he told the site. "Maybe play a bad guy."
His commitment only goes so far though. Jane plans to stay alive for any role he may play in Walking Dead. "I'm not going to be a zombie," he said. "That's too much makeup."
Gfest is all for this happening. Jane was a great Punisher, and I can't help but feel that the Punisher would be like a kid on Christmas in a world full of zombies that need killing.

One Sharpie to Rule the Comic/Animated World
If you're Jim Lee, Frank Quietly, Ivan Reis, David Finch, Robert Kirkman, Alex Ross, Doug Mahnke, Tony Daniels, I could go on and on, what's better than drawing and sketching with a Sharpie? Drawing and Sketching with a Stainless Steel Sharpie.

This fine-tipped permanent marker features a stainless steel barrel with a laser-etched Sharpie logo, a replaceable ink cartridge, and a matching cap.
Next time you are at a Con or some place where you're fortunate enough to see one of your favorite illustrators or cartoonist, I bet they will be using this classy little beauty.
Like Gollum, if you can't live without this pen, that looks like it may have been born from the fires of of Mt. Dooms, head over to the Sharpie site: Stainless Steel Sharpie ($8) and buy your precious.

First Pictures from AMC's The Walking Dead Adaption
AMC's has officially begun production of their new TV series based on the Robert Kirkman comic "The Walking Dead."
The first season will only be six-episodes long, which quite honestly sucks, but its hard to complain too much after you see the preview pictures of the zombies. They look AWESOME.
The show follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, traveling in search of a safe and secure home after a zombie apocalypse.
AMC provided SuperheroHype with the video below, in which Produce/Director Frank Darabont discusses his inspiration for doing a series about zombies, the thrust of this survival story and his goal to "do for zombies what 'Mad Men' has done for advertising."
