The Legend of Buzz Light Year

Lily fox created an unintentional  mash-up that will take you from Hyrule to infinity and beyond.  Buzz Light Year as Link in the Legend of Zelda. I don't believe this is what Lily intended, she was going for Buzz as a Space Marine.  Regardless, Gfest loves Lily's work, and I have to say Buzz would make playing Zelda a hell of  lot easier.  I can sense Gannon and Zurg shaking in their boots.

Why Mario & Luigi Keep Yoshi Around

Michael Bisparulz created this funny picture of Mario & Luigi going to town on Yoshi's eggs.  Most be some good sh*t in those eggs.

Megan Fox as Mega woMAN

Spacecoyote (real name Nina Matsumoto) created this unusual caricature of Megan Fox as Mega Man. Nina  says she was inspired to create this unique work because, "Every time I try to search for "Mega Man", Google pulls up "Megan Fox" first. Why not combine the two, then?"

Check out Nina's other fabulous work either on deviantART or on her site.  It's all just as wonderful.

Star Wars Art - "Tatooine Tone" Clever, Funny and Beautiful

Otis Frampton created this beautiful and funny Star Wars picture entitled, "Tatooine Tone."  The inspiration for the ad is the old Coppertone baby ad.  Looks like Yoda is pondering taking a look under the old loin cloth. It's a wonderful concept with a good amount of pop culture injected into it.  Great Job Otis!

Fantastic Futurama Inspired Artwork

Matt Groening's, Futurama originally aired on Fox, and was canceled in 2003 (season 5).  Praise to Robotology, in June 2009, Comedy Central announced that it would revive the show with new episodes. The first episodes of season 6 began airing in June 2010. The new season has been wonderful and we are hopeful the ratings continue to do very well.  In celebration of our love for everything Planet Express, enjoy the Futurama inspired artwork below.  It's magnificent.

New Super Mario Mushrooms Types

Who doesn't love Super Mario? The Koopas, Bullet Bill, Goombas, Hammer Bros., Lakitu, Piranha Plant, and of course everyone's favorite the Mushrooms. The iconic shrooms that have become synonymous with video games to generations.  I mean who doesn't need to become “big” or grab a“1-up?"

Luckily for all of us, MyBurningEyes decided to create some new mushroom types, giving Mario various cool new powers (which are left to your imagination).  Check a few of them out here, but be sure to check MrBurningEyes on DeviantArt and check out the rest these cool shrooms.  Here we go...

Batkids

As huge fans of Batman and Robin, Gfest is always scouring the internet to find creative and unique art containing the dynamic duo.  Luckily, we stumbled upon the deviantART page of Jenzee and found this picture entitled, "Batkids."  What makes this drawing even more impressive is she drew it while watching an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (a Gfest favorite) which is only a 30 minute show.

The Creation of Mario

Gfest found this absolutely marvelous picture by TsaoShin on deviantARTShigeru Miyamoto creates Mario in a parody of Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" from the Sistine Chapel.

The characters in the picture from left to right: Mario, Midna, Shigeru Miyamoto, Daisy, Princess Peach, Toadette, Zelda and Birdo. Lower row: Rosalina and Samus.  The leaf is from Super Mario Bros. 3. It's the one that grants you the raccoon tail.

Thanks TsaoShin for this wonderfully creative art.

Bartman Begins

Alexander G otherwise known as itchandscratchy on deviantART created this Batman Begins/Simpsons parody piece that is fantastic.  He explains his inspiration below:
The Scarecrow's real name is Dr. Crane wich is also the name of Kelsey Grammer's character from Fraiser who also voices Sideshow Bob. Which explains the reason why I drew him as that villian. The Joker likes to laugh at people's pain, same does Nelson and are the bad guys Bart and Batman has known the longest. Lisa and Poison Ivy both want to prevent pollution and preserve plant life, but isn't able to do so successfully. Ivy does it in a criminal way and Lisa ends up causing a fuzz or annoying people.
Gfest loves Bartman Begins.  For more great artwork by Alexander G at deviantART.

Futurama X-Men = FANTASTIC

gottabecarl  posted this wonderful work of art on deviantART. Anytime Gfest can get their favorite animated characters re-imagined as their favorite superheroes makes for a damn good day.

The artist gottabecarl explains the inspiration behind this wonderfully creative picture.
A friend of mine suggested one day that it would be cool to see the characters of Futurama as X-Men and so I drew him Fry as Cyclops. For some reason I couldn't just stop there...and what came of it was a pretty extensive illustration with some of the most obscure characters from both the X-Men and Futurama universes.

Mario & Co. After Too Many Mushrooms

Gfest found this wonderful picture of Mario, Luigi, Wario & Waluigi on deviantART and couldn't stop laughing.  The facial expressions on these traditional Nintendo characters are hilarious.

DogmanSP created this picture entitled 'Super Awesomefsjaltrollfffuuuu.'  Don't ask us what it means.  Gfest just knows we need a t-shirt or poster created immediately of this wonderfully creative piece of art.

Bruce Wayne Has a Bigger Dick Grayson

Once in a while Gfest get very fortunate and stumbles upon an awesome comic-art blog.  Well we certainly got very lucky when we found FoxxFireArt's Blog and deviantArt pages thanks to our friends at comicvine.

FoxxFireArt has been developing a very funny comic strip based on the The Return of Bruce Wayne.  FoxxFireArt explains on his blog.
When I heard Bruce would be traveling through time. I tried to think of the most iconic forms of time travel that could make a funny joke. I thought of "Back to the Future", "Quantum Leap", and " Terminator". While Quantum Leap has the most comedic potential. The manner of time travel was different. Knowing this. The theme of this 4koma should be pretty obvious.
I was actually posting images on my Twitter account (@ FoxxFireArt) showing my progression in the creation of this 4koma. From the time that my pencil hit the page. Every few hours I would post a sample to my Twitter account. I'm not sure how that went over. I'm not sure I will try that again. I just don't know if anyone even cared. Below are the images that I posted.

Spidey vs Hulk - Simply Amazing Comic Art

Here is a beautiful picture of Spiderman and Hulk created by Manarama at DeviantArt.  The picture is appropriately titled, "Spidey vs. Hulk."

Gfest loves fan comic art and Manarama has some of the most wicked art we have seen in a long, long time. Hulk has never looked more badass and Spidey, well he looks good too, but he is going get his ass beat!

Badass Link: Legend of Zelda Picture

Here is a beautiful picture of Link from the Legend of Zelda entitled, "Navi-Hey Listen" created by GENZOMAN at DeviantArt.

Gfest loves the Legend of Zelda games, but let's face it that damn fairy will drive you nuts screaming "hey" or "Watch-out" every five seconds.  Gfest applauds Link for teaching that annoying little SOB a lesson.

Anime Inspired Version of Futurama Cast

Gfest is on a Futurama kick, we admit it, but can you blame us?  New episodes of Futurama are coming back to TV on Comedy Central, starting with a double header on June 24th.

All hail the SpaceCoyote from DeviantArt! He came up with this very cool anime inspired version of the cast from Futurama.

South Park Does Futurama

Gfest has always been a big fan of South Park and Futurama.  We watch South Park religiously because it is the best comedy on TV- hand down.  Yes, Seth McFarlane you heard Gfest correctly.

We still watch the reruns of Futurama for many of the same reasons and anxiously await the new series to start next month after a seven year absence.

Thanks to MooseCake at deviantART put together these awesome Futurama characters in South Park style.

McDux0r's over at YouTube put together this 30 second video of Futurama characters in South Park style. That is very enjoyable as well.

Super Mario Like You've Never Seen Him

The man behind this beautiful picture on DeviantArt, vanToll777, must be like Rain Man at a casino to score all these chips.  He may also be the most gifted poker chip artist of his generation.  One night he created these incredible Super Mario Bros. characters using only poker chips and Gfest thanks you.  Check out all the pictures on DeviantArt.
