NEW Classic Green Lantern Action Figures

As an action figure collector, SDCC is as good as it gets.  Those three days are like Christmas morning for me.  Not only can you purchase the exclusives but you can obtain a first peak at the new series yet to be released.  Case in point, we saw these beauties on display in San Diego.

Expected to arrive in stores in October, the line's first wave is set to include Kyle Rayner, Black Hand, Manhunter, Sinestro Corps members Low and Maash (who come with interchangeable heads) and Black Lantern Abin Sur. Mongul will round out the line, although it's uncertain whether this version will be a reissue or an original sculpt. As with many DCUC lines, this GL wave will include build-a-character pieces, appropriately forming Arkillo this time around.

Eye Survived Comic Con T-Shirt

Did you Survive Comic Con? Did you come back home without looking like a pirate?

If you learned nothing else from this year's SDCC, remember you should never take another geeks seat.

If you haven't heard the story, two guys were fighting over a seat at one of the panels at this year's Comic Con, and it lead to one of the guys stabbing the other in the eye with a pen.  Damn!

Head over to Mighty Fine to purchase this and many other wonderful t-shirts.

Who Wore it Better? - SDCC Wonder Woman Edition

Gfest loves the San Diego Comic Con.  And despite what the rest of the world actually thinks about the attendees, there are tons of hotties who attend the Con.  And a whole bunch of them come in costume, very skimpy costumes.  So it's time to play everyone's favorite game:  Who Wore It Better?

Today we pick out two people who dressed as Wonder Woman.  But who wore that costume better?  Diana #1 (from behind) or Diana #2 (from the front).

Two Princess Leia's in Golden Bikinis Are So Much Better Than One

Once you get past all of the news and excitement of Comic Con, you then get to enjoy the best side benefit
of Comic Con in San Diego.  And that is clearly hotties in slutty costumes.
Many times those costumes are from some random obscure character from girlie manga book that no one else on the planet reads.  Girls, at the end of the day, that's just a waste of effort on your part.  Instead, go classic.  The Princess Leia costume is like the little black dress of cosplay - it never disappoints.

Having said that, these two have taken it up a notch, because the only thing better than Princess Leia in the golden bikini is two Princess Leia's in golden bikinis.  Well done ladies.

Next year try kissing each other in those same outfits, and maybe visiting a tanning booth.

ALL STAR SUPERMAN Next DC Animated Movie

SDCC is full of so many surprises that it is hard to remember all the announcements that did not garner the publicity as the premier of AVENGERS Movie cast or footage of the GREEN LANTERN movie.

One revelation that you may have missed in all the hullabaloo is that Warner Bros. Animation officially announced a DC Universe Original Movie based on ALL STAR SUPERMAN, the award-winning series by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely.

The direct-to-DVD animated feature, set for release in spring 2011, is written by Dwayne McDuffie, who calls the series "one of the greatest stories in comic book history."

Blake Lively Looked Sexier Than Ever at Comic Con

Blake Lively was at Comic-Con to promote ‘the Green Lantern’, and she and Ryan Reynolds sat on a panel to discuss their upcoming movie.

Her mouth moved and some guy, named Ryan was on stage with her but it was difficult to pay attention. For some reason, everyone in the audience had their mouths open and tongues out like the Wolf in a Tex Avery cartoon.

Beware Japan: GODZILLA Coming to Theaters in 2012

At the San Diego Comic Con, Legendary Pictures handed out T-Shirts with this image of Godzilla on it.

In addition, when you stood in front of a webcam, the Legendary Pictures logo launched an augmented reality video showing the god lizard in action and shooting off his atomic breath.

The new Godzilla film is expected to hit theaters in 2012.

Jim Lee's 10 minute iPad Batman Sketch

If you didn't already know that Jim Lee was a talented artist, then you have no real business being on this site.  But this is pretty amazing, even for Jim Lee.  He did this sweet Batman sketch for a reporter at a panel during Comic Con International.  And it only took him 10 minutes!  That is an amazing amount of talent.

Jim clearly loves his iPad.  If you haven't seen his other ipad sketches, then check out his iPad Catwoman,iPad Joker, iPad Wonder Woman, and the one he did of his wife

Trailer for Walking Dead Released by AMC at Comic Con

AMC has been doing a great job at promoting the upcomming TV adaptation of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic series.  You've seen the teaser images here on gfest before, but now you get the first peek at the trailer for the series, which was shown to attendees of Comic Con in San Diego.  And it looks GOOD.

Geoff Johns' Brightest Day Teases from Comic Con

Taking San Diego and Comic Con by storm, Geoff Johns has droped several interesting clues about the upcomming events of Brightest Day.  Here are the best:

Johns is hinting there may be a connection between Blackest Night and the Lazarus pits.  You'll also see an appearance by Batman in Brightest Day.

Like he's planning a Larfleeze Christmas special, Johns says there will be a Dex-Starr Valentine's Day special that will see the long awaited Dex-Starr/Krypto fight.

Ivan Ries is going to draw another Green Lantern Secret Origins, and it will feature Sinestro.

The question Hal was supposed to ask Sinestro in Rage of the Red Lanterns will finally get asked sometime this year.

The Indigo Tribe will show up in Green Lantern #59 and we'll learn more about them and see Black Hand.

There will be consequences for Mogo and all those Black Lanterns buried inside him.

A series is planned to follow up on "Blackest Night" and "Brightest Day" which Johns already has a name for, although he didn't reveal it.

When the White Ring creates a construct it's there forever.

There will be a White Lantern oath revealed in Brightest Day.

Carol Ferris has a pretty major change in Green Lantern #57.

Gfest's Picks for the Best Comic Con 2010 Exclusives

Like a kid on Christmas Eve, gfest is so very excited for next week's grand daddy of them all, the San Diego Comic Con International.  And these Comic Con Exclusives, which we think are the very best of the Con, are the reasons why!

Futurama's Plush Nibbler

DCUC Plastic-Man with Suitcase

DC 75th Anniversary Justice League Vs. Starro Pack

Darkwing Duck #1
 Robot Chicken Exclusive Nerd

Jumbo Stormtrooper

Batman & Joker 6″ Mez-Itz Two Pack

Comic Con International Just OFFICIALLY "Nuked the Fridge"

Alexandre Aja, the Director of Piranha 3-D, was scheduled to show a preview of his movie at Comic Con International in San Diego.  The clip includes a scene of a wet t-shirt contest.  The people who run Comic Con subsequently crapped their pants, and told him he had to cut the scene or he couldn't show the clip to Comic Con's paid attendees.

It makes gfest's stomach turn to think that the people that run Comic Con, which the King of Comics Jack Kirby and his friends started, is trying to stifle an artist's creative expression.  It's shameful really.

Gfest has never had a problem with Hollywood's invasion of Comic Con, even though many Comic Con purists have.  The merger of comic books and Hollywood was the fulfillment of Jack Kirby's vision, not its demise.  But censorship?  Well, that's just really, really not cool Comic Con.

Luckily, Aja told Comic Con to shove it, and walked away from Comic Con.  Instead, he will debut his movie at the UA Horton Plaza nearby on the same day that Comic Con 2010 opens.

Gfest can't help but think that King Kirby would be proud of you Alexandre.
