Star Wars Art - "Tatooine Tone" Clever, Funny and Beautiful

Otis Frampton created this beautiful and funny Star Wars picture entitled, "Tatooine Tone."  The inspiration for the ad is the old Coppertone baby ad.  Looks like Yoda is pondering taking a look under the old loin cloth. It's a wonderful concept with a good amount of pop culture injected into it.  Great Job Otis!

E.T. and Yoda Take Their Love Affair Public

This picture raises soooo many questions:

1. Why is Yoda dressed as the midget from Fantasy Island?
2. Why is Yoda dressed in clothes and E.T. naked?
3. Did E.T. just get shot in the head?
4. The the Jedi Order approve of homosexuality.
5. Is there any alien version of The Bachelor?  Is that why E.T. has that rose?

Celebrity Auditions for the Role of Yoda in Star Wars

Yoda is an incredibly powerful Jedi Master in the Star Wars universe. Series creator George Lucas originally wished Yoda to follow his other characters in having a full name: Minch Yoda, but instead opted to have many details of the character's life history remain unknown.

He also auditioned several celebrities for the roll of Yoda before deciding to go the puppet/CGI route for the character.  Here are the characters who made it to the finals.  Lose out to Puppet Yoda they did.

Origami Yoda is Simply Fantastic

Wow!  This is pretty sweet. I have a hard time folding a napkin let alone origami.  This beautiful work of art was done by antzpantz, who states on his flickr page.
"No no, this did not come from the Origami Calendar box! This was something I folded three-and-a-half years ago while bored one night and not studying. It took three painstaking hours to fold. He stands at 4.5in (11.5cm) tall and was folded from an A3 square- approximately 12x12in (30x30cm)! If I had a larger green square, I'd totally do it again.I found the instructions here soon after they were posted. My original photos can also be seen here."
 He's got some serious talent!

Who Knew Darth Vader had Such Pearly Whites?

Who knew under all that hardware that the catalyst behind Anakin Skywalker's entire black suit was to whiten his teeth?  Gfest has seen Return of the Jedi many, many times and never realized until now why Anakin glowed after his death.  It was the light radiating off his teeth.  Gfest can only assume that the moon light reflecting off Anakin's teeth is why Obi Wan and Yoda also had such a glow on Endor.

Well now the Darkside teeth whitening system can be yours even if you're a Rebel.  Beaming White: Teeth Whitening Headset Kit can turn even the darkest of darkside teeth, glowing "like the force" white.  Using the same wavelengths as professional teeth machines it will lighten your teeth in within an hour while you get on with your life.

Disney's Releases New Star Wars Weekend Ads

Star Wars Weekends is an annual special event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park that celebrates the epic space-fantasy Star Wars Saga and the new animated television series The Clone Wars. Join Jedi Masters, Sith Lords and Star Wars celebrities for special shows, presentations and memorabilia.

Fans of the Star Wars universe don’t have to travel to “a galaxy far, far away” to come face to face with droids, alien creatures and many of their favorite Star Wars characters.

In an effort to get your midi-chlorine count-up, they've released another great batch of amusing print ads to promote the event.  Disney's Yellow Shoes Creative Group has come up with six new advertisements for 2010's Star Wars Weekends. As in year's past, the ads feature classic Star Wars characters in funny situations around the park.
