Superhero/Peanuts Mash-up

Michelle Lana created these stupendous superhero cartoons.  I don't know if she intentionally did a Peanuts/Superhero mash-up, but I love the way they look.

Pixar Animator Angus MacLane’s Lego “CubeDudes” are Wonderful

Just when you think you've seen everything their is to see with Legos (Futurama, Minifigure Tattoos, Batmobile, Star Wars, Superheros) you stumble upon an amazing original creation.

Pixar animator Angus MacLane is an incredible artist that use these bricks to create what he calls “Cube Dudes”: culture icons made from Lego.

Enjoy this great collection and the flickr group.

Superhero Retirement Home

So Clark Kent wears both the glasses and the costume in his old age.  It's sad to see Superman go crazy.

Sony Picks Next Spiderman and He's White

Blue Sky Disney has leaked the news that Sony has picked the next Spiderman.
With all of the talk about who would be the next Peter Parker, every actor we have heard of and haven't heard of auditioned for the role with Sony selecting a handful of candidates as the finalists for the coveted role of Spider-Man.

The worst kept rumor of the day is that Sony has settled on "Journey to the Center of the Earth's" Josh Hutcherson as the newly high school bound Peter Parker. After several extensive test shoots were performed, Marc Webb and the top Sony executives decided that Hutcherson was the right fit for the role and an offer was made and has been accepted.

Gfest has never heard of Josh Hutcherson? What do you think will he do a good job as the next Peter Parker?
Did anyone actually see Journey to the Center of the Earth?

Spiderman Back in Quack #1 - Skottie Young Cover

Hidden deep in the Marvel Fall solicitations is a comic that should have been at the top of the list - Spiderman Back in Quack #1 .  I mean just for the Skottie Young cover art alone it is worth the buy.  Plus, who doesn't like Howard the Duck?  Marvel's Solicit Reads,
"Presenting two of Marvel's finest: Spider-Man and ... Cynical Duck (TM)? Yes, Howard the Duck's brain has been thoroughly scrubbed, his hard-edged humor carefully dulled down for maximum demographic acceptance. It's up to Peter Parker to set the duck straight -- but does the world prefer Howard this way? Guest-starring the villainy of SOOPhI, the utter cluelessness of Mayor J. Jonah Jameson, and the unnerving eroticism of "Swizzle," SOOPhI's whip-wielding corporate spokeswoman. So wrong it's ... well, no, it's still wrong, courtesy of Stuart Moore (NAMOR) and Mark Brooks (YOUNG AVENGERS). Plus: a tiny-size Man-Thing backup feature by Stuart Moore & Joe Suitor (MARVEL BREAKOUT)!  40 PGS./One-Shot/Rated A ...$3.99"Show all

Super Heroic Minimalism T-Shirt is Anything but Minimal

All of you know by now that Gfest loves cool, unique and entertaining t-shirts.  In fact, we own more t-shirts than Kendra has sex tapes.

One of our favorite online destinations to purchase unique, humorous, beautifully designed t-shirts is Threadless.

Recently we stumbled upon this beautifully creative t-shirt entitled 'Super Heroic Minimalism.'

This design by biotwist is damn clever and just plain cool.

If we can figure out how, by time you read this post, Gfest will own this ultra-hip comic t-shirt.

Spidey vs Hulk - Simply Amazing Comic Art

Here is a beautiful picture of Spiderman and Hulk created by Manarama at DeviantArt.  The picture is appropriately titled, "Spidey vs. Hulk."

Gfest loves fan comic art and Manarama has some of the most wicked art we have seen in a long, long time. Hulk has never looked more badass and Spidey, well he looks good too, but he is going get his ass beat!

British Teen Changes Name to Captain Fantastic

A 19-year-old kid in England has officially changed his name to "Captain Fantastic Faster Than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk And The Flash Combined."

The British teenager -- originally named George Garratt -- said his new name, which is thought to be the world's longest, has so outraged his grandmother that she is no longer speaking to him, The Telegraph reported.

The teen said he used an online service to officially change his name for a mere $20 fee.

The teenager formerly known as George said he wanted a superhero themed name.  Hopefully he did a Google search beforehand, because most references to Captain Fantastic relate to Gay Idol Elton John.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Trailer - WOW!!

It's only been a decade since Gfest last saw a new Marvel vs. Capcom fighting game -- 2000's Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.  But, despite the wait, the long, long wait (which will be a little bit longer 2011). It's coming and it looks damn good.  So good that if you're viewing the clip below in public, you may have the same experience you did in middle school when you looked at the pretty girl next to you in class. So be careful before leaving your desk.  Just warning you.

Is Spiderman Using LSD?

This latest footage of Spiderman obtained by gfest seems to suggest fairly clearly that Spiderman has begun to use some sort of hallucinagenic drug.  What else could possibly explain this scene below from Spiderman Fever #1?

LSD is the prime suspected drug, although Salvia may also be a strong contender.  Gfest's investigation also discovered that Spiderman is constantly out of cash and trying to borrow money from friends and associates.  Classic drug adict behavior.

Stay tuned for the announcement of him entering rehab soon.
