Disney's Beauty and the Beast Named Top Animated Movie of All Time

IGN Movies has published a list of the top 25 animated movies of all time.  Their criteria included the films' impact on pop culture, story quality, legacy, and filmmaking style.

IGN chose Disney's Beauty and the Beast as the top animated film of all time, citing its role in the resurgance of the Disney animated film franchise.  It also became one of the first animated films to bust out of its own genre eventually leading to an OSCAR nomination for Best Picture.

In the world of comic book based superheroes, only one film just barely made the list.  Coming in at number 25 on the list was Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

Bruce Timm was robbed.

  1. What, no Transformers. All three toy story movies, you have got to be kidding. Maybe yes to the first one because of how it revolutionized the industry and supposedly the third one was awesome, but two was just entertaining and that doesn't make it top 25 in my book.

Beuty and the Beast is great, but I am not sure it deserves number one. Why isn't Watership Down on this list or American Tail. Glad mask of the Phantasm made it though.

  2. Totally agree. This list makes very little sense. I feel like Toy Story should have paid for this story, since its basically an ad for them.
