BREAKING NEWS: Krona is in Green Lantern Movie

Krona, the Oan scientist whose actions caused the creation of the DC Comics Multiverse will be introduced to general audiences in Martin Campbell's live action Green Lantern film. Comic Book Movies reports that several streets will be completely closed off to allow room for an Earth-based scene involving the fear entity Parallax and Krona.

Unfamiliar with Krona? He is a summary of history within the DC Universe:
Born on Maltus, Krona is an Oan scientist who became obsessed with observing the origins of the universe itself, despite an ancient legend that said discovering that secret would cause a great calamity. Krona constructs a machine that pierces the temporal barrier and views the beginnings of time itself. Krona catches a glimpse of the hand of creation depositing the speck that would become the entire cosmos. His machine explodes at that instant, and the universe is shattered causing the creation of the Multiverse as the universe replicates into an infinite number of parallel universes. At this same moment, the Anti-Matter Universe is created, unleashing evil into the cosmos; thus, the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor are born. As punishment for this act, Krona is transformed into pure energy by his fellow Oans and is sent to forever wander the cosmos. Krona's actions are what caused the Oans to become the Guardians of the Universe.

FIRST LOOK: BRIGHTEST DAY #7 - Why "the 12" Came Back

Geoff Johns promised that the answer to why "the 12" were resurrected at the end of BLACKEST NIGHT would be revealed in BRIGHTEST DAY #7.  This series, thus far, has been a disappointment for me.  I was hoping for a weekly series on par with 52, but unfortunately it has not lived up that standard.  I am not giving up on this series because Johns and Tomasi are two of the best writers in comics.  Let's hope the "big reveal" on Wednesday gives this story the boost it needs to keep all our interests.  Enjoy the preview of BRIGHTEST DAY #7 below.

Raggedy Andy Caught in Peeping Tom Scandal

Poor Raggedy Andy.  Yet another beloved childhood role model falls down the road of sexual perversions.  I mean, aren't they brother and sister?

On a side note Raggedy Ann's boobs are looking a lot bigger than I remember.  Clearly she's had breast implants.

Who knew these two were such a couple of freaks?

Those Pac Man Ghosts Are Much Scarier Than I Thought

DAMN.

Poor Pac Man.  That's a lot more violent ending than the videogame leads you to believe.

I also wonder if they are ghosts or zombies, as they clearly went right for the brain.

Mark Millar's Brother Jumping out of Plane as Nemisis

Earlier this year Mark Millar and Dynamic Forces held auctions to raise money for a new mini-bus for the special needs kids Millar's brother, Bobby, works with in Scotland. The bus costs about £26,000, or about $40,000, and according to Mark, they raised about half that with the auctions.

Mark said he is planning another auction around his upcoming Superior comic, but he's also asking folks to sponsor his brother's first attempt at skydiving. In August, Bobby will dress up as Nemesis, the character created by his brother and artist Steve McNiven, and jump out of a plane. "My only fear, of course, is that with that white hood and cut out eye-holes (I've seen the suit) he's going to be mistaken for the first Scottish Ku Klux Klansman and get the crap kicked out of him!" Mark said.

Mark posted a message from his brother on the Millarworld forums:
"My sky dive, in aid of the purchase of a school minibus for disabled pupils at my school, takes place on Sunday 22nd of August in Perth, Scotland. We're looking to raise about £26,000 (approx $40,000) and are just over half way there. Ideally we'd like to purchase the bus for October and I'm now looking for people prepared to sponsor me to participate in my first (and last!) sky dive event. All contributions would be most welcome and will help to bring us that bit closer to our target sum. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=BFABE56N5S8PG Best wishes, Dr Bobby Millar"

E.T. and Yoda Take Their Love Affair Public

This picture raises soooo many questions:

1. Why is Yoda dressed as the midget from Fantasy Island?
2. Why is Yoda dressed in clothes and E.T. naked?
3. Did E.T. just get shot in the head?
4. The the Jedi Order approve of homosexuality.
5. Is there any alien version of The Bachelor?  Is that why E.T. has that rose?

FIRST LOOK: Paul Pope's BATTLING BOY

Artist Paul Pope and colorist Nathan Schreiber have released a first look at color pages from Battling Boy, Pope's highly anticipated -- and much-delayed -- graphic novel from First Second Books.

Announced in 2007, Battling Boy centers on the son of a god (or perhaps superhero) who's sent down from the top of a mountain by his father to rid the continent-sized city of Monstropolis of the monsters that plague it. This is the fabled comic with "horrible, Grimm's fairytale, Beowulf-ish monsters" and 50-page fight scenes.

It was suggested back in March that Battling Boy initially could be serialized online, presumably as part of First Second's TBC/To Be Continued initiative. However, no additional information has been released.

Fantastic Futurama Inspired Artwork

Matt Groening's, Futurama originally aired on Fox, and was canceled in 2003 (season 5).  Praise to Robotology, in June 2009, Comedy Central announced that it would revive the show with new episodes. The first episodes of season 6 began airing in June 2010. The new season has been wonderful and we are hopeful the ratings continue to do very well.  In celebration of our love for everything Planet Express, enjoy the Futurama inspired artwork below.  It's magnificent.

Wonder Woman and Batman Marry Over the Weekend

You thought Chelsea Clinton's was in the biggest wedding of the weekend?  You were wrong.

Sharon and Neil Vaughan married this weekend as Wonder Woman and Batman because they love wearing fancy dress.

But what happened to the caped crusader's sidekicks?  Well, Robin was the best man and the Joker was the master of ceremonies.

Mrs Vaughan, 40, in red corset, blue hotpants, boots and a tiara and veil, made her entrance to the Wonder Woman theme tune.

Her bridesmaids came as the PowerPuff girls while other guests included Superman, the Incredibles, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk and Captain America.

Comic Book Fan Selling Rare Mint Copy of Batman No. 1

A longtime Alaska comic book buff is selling one of the gems in his vast collection, a rare copy of Batman No. 1 published 70 years ago.
Mike Wheat of Fairbanks has put the 1940 comic book on the auction block through Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries, where it's expected to fetch more than $40,000.  A live auction has been set for Thursday.

Wheat, a retired city wastewater treatment plant operator, said he considers the Batman comics an investment. He said it feels like the right time to sell.

"I just decided it's time for someone else to have it," he said.

The Batman No. 1 comic book was discovered after local businessman Ron Jaeger bought an old dresser at a garage sale in the early 1970s, then kept it in storage for a few years. When Jaeger finally brought it out, he noticed one of the drawers didn't slide easily.

Three comic books and a few old issues of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner were tucked beneath the drawer and a quarter-inch piece of plywood. The haul included a copy of Batman No. 1, Superman No. 17 and an old issue of a Red Ryder Western comic.

Wheat bought the comic books from him for $300.

The auction house has handled many copies of Batman No. 1, but Wheat's copy is notable because the low humidity and cool temperatures in Fairbanks have kept the paper in excellent condition, said Barry Sandoval, director of comic auctions and operations at Heritage. Old comics were printed on cheap newsprint, but the pages in Wheat's copy remain white and crisp.
