A Chinese kid whose parents wouldn't buy him comic books decided he'd do it himself. But he didn't have any money. So he showed his mom a thing or two and sold her diamond ring to a pawn shop for only $29.
The kid then bought himself some comic books, but his parents were none too happy. Especially when the pawn shop told them they couldn't have the ring back. His father, Wang Wei, eventually had to call on the local administration of industry and commerce to step in. The governmental agency stated the child was too young to make a deal with the shop, and forced them to sell it back to Wei for the same price.
