Sorry Charlie Brown: Peppermint Patty Likes Her Boys a Little Dirty

The Peanuts Comic Strip ran for so long, that it is overflowing with wonderful moments.  Yet you can always come across something previously unseen, or surprising, or jaw-droppingly weird. Like the fact that Peppermint Patty once tried to jump on anything that moved, at one point getting so desperate that Pigpen agreed to go on a date with her, although he likely just did it for some meth.


Her crush on Charlie Brown is well established.  Her "special relationship" with Marcie is legendary.  But who knew the Patty also had shared some moments with Pigpen?

Yes, Charles Schulz brought back the mostly-retired Pig-Pen for a Valentine's Day blind-date romance...with Peppermint Patty! Even weirder for a Peanuts romance (at least the human ones), it did not go unrequited. It doesn't last long (although there's a nice little "sequel" to it a couple of months later)... but still.
