Disney Bringing TRON: UPRISING Animated Series to Television

Disney’s long awaited sequel Tron Legacy hitting theaters next  month, but if you're one of those old school 1980s fans that cannot get enough Tron then you are going to be real, real happy.   Variety reports Disney XD has ordered Tron: Uprising an animated series being developed for release in the summer of 2012. Charlie Bean (Samurai Jack) will executive produce and direct the series 20 and Tron Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will serve as consulting producers.

Heading into the world of Tron and lending their voices to the animated series will be Elijah Wood (Everything is Illuminated), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage), Mandy Moore (Tangled), Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee’s Playhouse), Lance Henriksen (Cyrus) and Bruce Boxleitner reprising his franchise role as Tron.

In September, it was announced that the original Tron: Uprising would be a ten part mini-series in which a young program named Beck stands up against an evil regime headed by Clu who obtains his status after the defeat of Tron, the security watchdog program.

However, Collider reports that information is not true and Tron: Uprising is completely independent of that mini-series which will air in the fall of 2011. We've got a sh#t load of Tron to look forward to after Tron Legacy hits theaters on December 17th.

Sexy, Naughty & Slutty Disney Princess Comic Book Characters - Round Two

The first collection of Sexy Disney Princesses was a huge hit, and why wouldn't it be? (See them HERE if you missed it)  A gallery full of female Disney characters imagined as sexy comic book characters is pure genius.

We’ve all thought about it at least once.  Nothing wrong with that. In all honesty, many of them are hotter than the real thing, and odds on they’d be up for anything. We’d be naive if we didn’t suspect some sordid stuff was going on behind the scenes in Disneyland.

And we're still waiting for Walt Disney to venture into the anime porn business. Until then, check out the latest creations in this series, and tell us which is your favorite.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast Named Top Animated Movie of All Time

IGN Movies has published a list of the top 25 animated movies of all time.  Their criteria included the films' impact on pop culture, story quality, legacy, and filmmaking style.

IGN chose Disney's Beauty and the Beast as the top animated film of all time, citing its role in the resurgance of the Disney animated film franchise.  It also became one of the first animated films to bust out of its own genre eventually leading to an OSCAR nomination for Best Picture.

In the world of comic book based superheroes, only one film just barely made the list.  Coming in at number 25 on the list was Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

Bruce Timm was robbed.

First Look at Disney's New 3D MovieTangled

Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) has been trapped in a tower for, like, ever in the second teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming 3D animated feature, Tangled

Despite Disney’s brief return to traditional hand-drawn animation with last year’s The Princess and the Frog, Tangled will be a 3D computer-crafted venture in the vein of their 2008 feature, Bolt.  Most of their future projects will be developed in a similar fashion, as 2D animation is regarded as more old-fashioned and lacking in terms of wide appeal with today’s moviegoers.

You can check out the second teaser for Disney’s Tangled below:

The Real Story of Alice & Wonderland

Paolo Pilotti has some produced beautiful, clever and funny art.  Gfest found this picture of Alice shooting up heroin under a tree to quite funny.

I think Paolo is on to something.  Heroin may be the best explanation for the events that occurred in every Alice movie Gfest has ever seen.

Despite, the fact that Lewis Carroll was not on drugs when he drafted the Alice books (although, Gfest still believes he rolled a fatty or two) , Paolo's work captures the spirit of the movies.

Sexy, Naughty & Slutty Disney Princess Comic Book Characters

Our friends at geekologie found these wonderful drawings by J. Scott Campbell. This is a gallery of female Disney characters imagined as sexy comic book characters.

These women are much better than the whiny teenage, flat chested girls we have been forced to watch over and over again.  Walt Disney really screwed the pooch, he could have been much, much bigger if he had ventures into the anime porn business. Click read more for additional wonderfully sexy pictures.

See several more pictures after the jump.

Dark Knight Meets Toy Story 2 in this Brilliant Mashup Trailer

Gfest finds trailer mashups to generally be dissapointing.  This one, which mixes footage of Toy Story 2 with the audio of the trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT, is extremelly well done.

Where this one succeeds is in the "casting" department.  Woody is the Joker, Buzz Lightyear is Batman, and T-Rex is Alfred.  It will all just seems so natural once you watch it below.

Disney's Releases New Star Wars Weekend Ads

Star Wars Weekends is an annual special event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park that celebrates the epic space-fantasy Star Wars Saga and the new animated television series The Clone Wars. Join Jedi Masters, Sith Lords and Star Wars celebrities for special shows, presentations and memorabilia.

Fans of the Star Wars universe don’t have to travel to “a galaxy far, far away” to come face to face with droids, alien creatures and many of their favorite Star Wars characters.

In an effort to get your midi-chlorine count-up, they've released another great batch of amusing print ads to promote the event.  Disney's Yellow Shoes Creative Group has come up with six new advertisements for 2010's Star Wars Weekends. As in year's past, the ads feature classic Star Wars characters in funny situations around the park.
