Ten Brand New Batman Arkham City Screenshots

It's Christmas in Gotham!  Warner Brothers has released new screenshots, and a sweet profile of Harley Quinn from Batman: Arkham City, coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PCs in 2011.

Developed by Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham City will take place within Arkham City, the new maximum security "home" for Batman's rouges gallery.  This highly anticipated sequel to what many consider the best comic book based video game ever developed, includes a new all-star cast of heroes and villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features.

Based on these screen shots alone, we can't wait.  

Name Revealed for Batman Arkham Asylum Sequel?

At the end of the Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman hops in the Bat Wing and flies back to Gotham to stop Two-Face from robbing a bank, hinting that the next game will move from Arkham to Gotham.

Now we have more hints concerning the follow up the to the wildly successful game as gfest's friends at Superannuation have found 15 different domain names that Warner Brothers has registered related to the sequel to 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum, potentially releasing the official title or at least an idea of the storyline.


Our favorite is Batman Ashes of Gotham.  We like the sound of that one.  Here are the full list of registered domain names:

New Batman Fan Film City of Scars is Visually Stunning

A really well done fan made superhero film can be a thing of beauty.  Just pure fans making movie magic without studio suits coming in to ruin their vision or force a love interest into the script.  Aaron Schoenke’s offeres the latest entry in the genre with his Batman film City of Scars.

The film was shot over 21 days with a budget of $27,000.  That seems like a pretty high price tag for a fan film, but then again we've never made one. 


The plot of the 30-minute film, which debuted today at Daily Motion, is summarized here:

When the Joker escapes from Arkham and murders the parents of a young boy, Batman recalls the pain of losing his own parents as a child. He is pushed past his limits to the point where his focus becomes revenge on all who stand in his way, including many of Gotham’s underworld. Finally, Batman is forced to look at the psychological profile of his own mind and accept the consequences of his life to find resolve.

It's a new Batman film.  Who are you kidding?  You know you want to watch it. 

Mark Hamill: Joker Dies In Arkham Asylum II?

In a recent interview with IGN Mark Hamill, who is already many a comic book fan's favorite Joker, talks about what it's been like to lend his voice to the role as well as what convinced him to sign on to play the character once again in Batman: Arkham Asylum and the upcoming sequel!  Below is a highlight of the interview.

My answer to developers Rocksteady for the sequel was, 'Guys, we're never going to be able to top the original.' It was so claustrophobic. There were so many abilities like the stealth mode, and all those things you can do with the new technology. I wanted to be able to say I'd gone out on a high note."

"Of course they translated my hesitance to me holding out for a bigger salary! But I said, 'No.' I never looked at it like, 'Boy, I'm going to make a truckload of money.' I really did want it to be good. I got on the phone with Rocksteady and they really reassured me and told me what they were going to do with the sequel. But I'm sworn to secrecy!"

"This will be my last, there's no question about that. But it's the last hurrah."

Batman: Arkham Asylum Action Figure Photos Leaked

The first images of the recently-revealed Batman: Arkham Asylum action figures have been leaked online, and they look extremely faithful to the source material.


Five figures will be available in the first wave.  They are Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow and, surprisingly, Scarface.

Robin to Appear in Arkham Asylum 2?

The greatest sidekick in comic book history, Robin, could be making an appearance in the upcoming Arkham Asylum 2 if early cast listings are correct.

An IMDB listing for Rocksteady's sequel to Arkham Asylum confirms that Mark Hamill reprises his performance as The Joker, and he's to be joined by Two-Face as actor Bruce Greenwood takes on Harvey Dent and his alter-ego.

But the real news is the inclusion of Robin, to be played by Vincent Martella who most recently voiced Hope Estheim in Final Fantasy XIII.

Batman Arkham Aslyum II - Coin Flip Anyone?

While details are still unknown, a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum was disclosed at the VGA awards, while Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy revealed at the Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo that Two-Face is part of the villain lineup.

In Batman: Arkham Asylum, the Dark Knight takes on his greatest challenge yet when he becomes trapped with all of his most dangerous villains inside the insane asylum of Gotham City - Arkham Asylum!

Mr. Freeze and Talia Confirmed for Arkham Aslyum 2

Thank God for small favors.  Gfest loves Talia Al Ghul.  She's gorgeous and oozes sex despite being a jealous homicidal maniac.  Oh, ya we like Freeze too.

Voice actor Maurice LaMarche, who previously voiced Brain in Animaniacs and Egon Spengler in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, confirmed on the GeekCast Radio podcast he'll be providing the voice for Mr. Freeze in the upcoming sequel.

"Videogames is hard work, I'll say that," LaMarche said. "I've only done a handful, and I'm very lucky right now, I'm about to go in and do Mr. Freeze for Arkham Asylum 2."

LaMarche couldn't go into much detail about the character, but did say Mr. Freeze will be very, very angry.
