Fantastic Futurama Inspired Artwork

Matt Groening's, Futurama originally aired on Fox, and was canceled in 2003 (season 5).  Praise to Robotology, in June 2009, Comedy Central announced that it would revive the show with new episodes. The first episodes of season 6 began airing in June 2010. The new season has been wonderful and we are hopeful the ratings continue to do very well.  In celebration of our love for everything Planet Express, enjoy the Futurama inspired artwork below.  It's magnificent.

Matt Groenings Futurama Hellboy Mashup

Not often we get a Mash-up from the creator of the animated characters, but Matt Groening created this wonderful Futurama/Hellboy Mash-up for a friend.  It's lovely!  Gfest loves Zapp Brannigan, so fiting.

Devo to Appear on Futurama

Gfest is so very excited for June 24 to arrive so we can watch the season premiere of Futurama.  Now Gfest finds out that Devo will appear on the 100th episode of the show.
To celebrate the 100th show, [Matt] Groening asked his musical heroes to be a part of the show – and they agreed to play mutant rights activists. The episode comes as Devo stage a comeback of their own – their upcoming Something for Everybody will be the band’s first album in 20 years. [PR Wire]

Matt Groenig's DC Comic Book Cover for Bizarro

In 2000-2001 DC Comics started the Bizarro Comics anthology.  This event invited underground and alternative cartoonists - and a few other unlikely types - to get nutty with the DC Universe's characters.

Here is an awesome cover of Bizarro done by one of the most talented animators in history, Mr. Matt Groening.  It's been nearly a decade since it's release but it definitely stands the Gfest test of time.

If you can get your hands on this old comic it is worth the read.  For a synopsis of the comic book.  Click on read more.

Naked Leela & Zapp Brannigan - Countdown to Futurama Season Premier Day 5

Another day another awesome Futurama picture from the upcoming season premier.  Happy Gfest Friday!

Here is another picture from season six's second episode, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela." Yes, it features Leela clad in nothing more than three well-placed fig leaves.  Gfest likes figs!

Turn down the lights, put on some music by the Robot Devil and stroke the cyclopes. Gfest was talking about Leela. Get your mind out of the gutter.  Sickos.

Another New Shot from the Upcoming New Futurama Series

What's better than Bender a female version of Bender designed to look just like our favorite one-eyed, ass kickin, space captain Leela.   Here is another piece of art from the upcoming season premiere of Futurama.  Bite my shiny metal boob, I mean ass! June 24 can not get here soon enough Comedy Central.

First New Shot of New Futurama Series

As you hopefully know, FUTURAMA is retuning with new episodes starting on June 24.  Comedy Central will show the first two episodes of the new season back-to-back. It's been seven years since the last new episode of FUTURAMA.  Gfest cannot wait to once again hear the gospel of Bender.

Comedy Central released a still from the first of the two episodes, titled “Rebirth” (funny and fitting), which only makes the wait until June 24 that much longer.  Can you here Gfest chanting Scruffy, Scruffy, Scruffy!

The Simpsons Ke$ha Tik-Tok Opening

Last night Matt Groening and the Simpsons crew replaced their traditional opening sequence with a rendition of Tik-Tok by the ever, under-talented Ke$ha.

This is only the third or fourth time the show has deviated from it's normal title sequence.

The song sucks (so does the artist) but the Simpson's make it rock!   Watch the opening sequence below.
